Vickers will become the youngest full-time competitor ever in
NASCAR's top series next season when he takes over the No. 25

Vickers on an advanced schedule Tuesday based on the promise the

Series. Vickers, who turns 20 in October, will be two months
younger than Casey Atwood was when he made his Winston Cup debut
at age 20 two years ago.

Definitely steady, and
anything but slow
by David Yaeck
|
|
Matt
Kenseth has been a steady rock in his racecar with one victory at Las Vegas and a
finish no lower than 22nd at the Virginia 500 at Martinsville. This weekend he
rolls into Darlington with a seemingly unreachable 351-point lead over Chevrolet
drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. and 464-point lead over Kevin Harvick. With just 12
races to go, there has never been a driver who has come from this much of a
deficit to win the Winston Cup championship.

CART can still race in Europe, but will they?
by Mark
Cipolloni
|
|
A
lot of our readers have contacted us wanting to know if there is any
truth to the rumors that CART may not go back to Europe in 2004
because the races lost so much money.
While that decision has yet to be made we suspect, we can share with
you what we know and what we think should happen. However, in
the end it may be The Big Little Man that determines CART's future in
Europe.

For CART, time is of the essence
by Mark Cipolloni
|
|
Of
late, my e-mail inbox has been bombarded from CART fans and many in
the CART paddock concerned about the series very existence. Many
wonder what the
$0.50 per share offer made (and subsequently rejected by CART) by Open Wheel Racing
Series LLC, comprised of
Messrs. Kevin Kalkhoven, Paul Gentilozzi, Gerald Forsythe, Carl Russo,
and Motorock (run by Jamie Rose) really means. This is a
very delicate subject and a lot of people's jobs depend on the future
of the Champ Car Series.
